Srinagar: A Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday. The terrorist killed in the encounter has been identified as Owais Raja, a resident of Subhanpura. According to police records, the slain terrorist was a terrorist of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Security forces have recovered an AK-56 rifle, three magazines and 80 rounds of bullets from the site of the encounter.
Lashkar terrorist killed in encounter
Police said that the presence of a terrorist was received in Charsu village of Awantipora following which a cordon and search operation was launched. As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorist opened fire after which the security forces retaliated in which a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was gunned down.
Police was involved in many cases of attack
Police said that according to police records, the terrorist Owais Raja was a terrorist of the country’s banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was part of a group of Lashkar-e-Taiba that has carried out several attacks on police and security forces. The security forces carried out this operation very close to the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. (Language)
