These days Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is making a lot of headlines. Everyone is praising it fiercely. The film has managed to make a place in the days of the people. From the general public to Bollywood celebs are coming out in support of the film. Now Yami Gautam and her husband Aditya Dhar have come out in support of this film. Yami praised the film and appealed to the fans to watch it.

Yami wrote in her post, “Being married to a Kashmiri Pandit I know the atrocities this peace loving community has endured. But much of the country is unaware of it. We needed 32 years and a film.” To know the truth. Please watch The Kashmir Files and support it.”

At the same time, Yami Gautam’s husband and filmmaker Aditya Dhar also praised the makers of ‘The Kashmir Files’ for their ‘valiant effort to show the truth’. He wrote in his tweet, ‘After watching #TheKashmirFiles you must have seen many videos of Kashmiri Pandits breaking down in theatres. The feeling is real. It shows how long we have held back our pain and tragedy as a community. We had no shoulder to cry on and no ear to hear our pleas.’

Aditya Dhar requested everyone to watch the film and said, ‘This film is a daring attempt to show our truth! We were forced to keep this tragedy a secret. We tried to move on hoping that time would heal our wounds, but we were seriously wrong. The wounds are still there. Almost all of us today are suffering mentally, emotionally and even physically. It was not just terrorism that killed so many people, it was also what happened after migration.

‘The Kashmir Files’, which revolves around the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, was released in theaters on March 11. It stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar and others. The film has been declared tax-free in several states including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
