Now to become a doctor, one has to study MBBC, so now Maharishi Charak will have to take oath. Now ‘Hippocratic oath’ has been replaced by ‘Maharshi Charak Shapath’. Not only this, this time the MBBS syllabus is being changed, in which there are many important changes. There will also be an exit test before you leave after completing your studies, only after passing it you will get MBBS degree, as well as that test will also serve to give entry for your further studies. Yes, the National Exit Test has also been made necessary for the medical students taking admission from this year. It will be like MBBS final exam and on the basis of this admission will be done in PG courses.

In addition, medical students will now have to undergo community health training from the first year of their studies. They will also have to adopt some village. A 10-day yoga course will also have to be done. Some courses have also been moved back and forth. Information about making the Maharishi Charak oath mandatory for medical students by adding it to the syllabus has come to the fore at a time when the government recently clarified it in Parliament. Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, said in response to the question in Rajya Sabha, “As per the information received from the National Medical Commission, there is no proposal at present to replace the Hippocratic Oath with the Charak Oath.” It is said that this new oath has been taken from the book ‘Charak-Samhita’ written by Maharishi Charak. Maharishi Charak is considered to be the top expert of Ayurveda medicine system, which is said to be the oldest in the world.

In MBBS syllabus, subjects like forensics and toxicology which were taught in the second year have been added to the third year course. Apart from this, a 10-day yoga foundation course has also been suggested for medical students in the new guidelines. This course will start every year from 12th June and will be completed on 21st June on Yoga Day. It will be done in all colleges. However, colleges will be able to decide how to get it done. According to Express, in the revised curriculum, now medical students will have to participate in community health training from the first year of the course. Under this, they will have to visit community health centers and adopt such villages, which do not have primary health centers. Doctors say that in the current curriculum, community medicine comes in the third year of studies.
