Raipur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented the budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the assembly on Wednesday. Baghel also holds the charge of Finance Department. Baghel presented a budget of one lakh four thousand crores for the financial year 2022-23. During this, he made many other announcements including implementing the old pension scheme in the state and waiving the examination fee of the local participants in the competitive examinations conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board and Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission.

In his budget speech, the Chief Minister said that it is my good fortune that in the year of 75th anniversary of India’s independence, I am presenting this budget of my government. I am satisfied that during the last three years our government has taken meaningful steps towards fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi, the hero of independence.

To cherish the memories of Bapu and to show the paths of development based on his ideas, Sewa Gram will be established in Nava Raipur. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 100 crore. Baghel said that the gross financial deficit of the state of Chhattisgarh is estimated at Rs 14,600 crore, which is 3.3 percent of the state’s GDP.

The net expenditure for the year 2022-23 is estimated at Rs. He said that the total revenue receipt of the state is estimated at Rs 89 thousand 73 crore and the total revenue expenditure is estimated at 88 thousand 372 crore. Therefore a total revenue surplus of 701 crores is estimated in the year 2022-23.

Baghel said that no new tax is proposed in the budget for the year 2022-23. In his budget speech, the Chief Minister said that in the first year itself, his government has waived the agricultural loans of 17 lakh 96 thousand farmers worth Rs. Paddy was procured from farmers at the rate of Rs 2,500 per quintal.

For the paddy of Kharif 2018, 15 lakh 77 thousand farmers were paid an immediate bonus amount of Rs.6,222 crore. Baghel said that six thousand annual assistance is being given under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana in the state. This year the first installment of 71 crore 8 lakh has been paid to three lakh 54 thousand 513 landless agricultural laborers.

I announce to increase the amount of six thousand annual assistance to seven thousand from the coming year. He said that the Gothans established in the state would be developed as Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park. Processing units will be set up in these industrial parks for value addition of local food products and minor forest produce products.

Baghel said that 15 thousand solar irrigation pumps of three and five HP capacity would be set up under Saur Sujala Yojana in the state. There is a provision of Rs 417 crore for this. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, there is a physical target of constructing nine kilometers of roads and 24 major bridges.

47 steel bridges are proposed to be constructed in Naxal-affected districts of Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada. There is a provision of one thousand 675 crores in the scheme. Baghel announced the operation of sand mines in the notified areas by the Panchayats. No mine shall be operated in the Panchayat area without the consent of any Gram Panchayat in the State.
