Atal Pension Yojna Beneficiaries Will Start Getting Pension Benefit From 2035 Says Finance Minister In Rajyasabha In Written Reply


Atal Pension Yojana Latest News: People are constantly joining with the Atal Pension Yojana, the pension scheme of the Modi government. The number of people joining it is increasing continuously. The number of subscribers in the Atal Pension Yojana has reached close to 3.88 crores till 28 February 2022 and it is expected to touch 40 crores soon. The Central Government has told the Parliament that from 2035, the holders of Atal Pension Yojana will start getting pension.

Pension will be available from 2035
Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar asked the Finance Minister how much pension was given to the people in the last three years under the Atal Pension Yojana. In response to which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Atal Pension Yojana was launched on 9 May 2015. The minimum age to join the scheme is 18 years and the maximum is 40 years. The subscriber of Atal Pension Yojana will get pension on completion of 60 years of age. Therefore, under the Atal Pension Yojana, people will start getting pension benefits from 2035.

In a written reply to the question asked in the Rajya Sabha, the Union Finance Minister said that in 2021-22, more than 85 lakh people have joined the Atal Pension Yojana. Let us tell you, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) PFRDA has set a target of connecting one crore people with this scheme in this financial year.

What are the rules of application
Let us tell you that people in the age group of 18 to 40 years can subscribe under Atal Pension Yojana. The applicant should have a bank account. In this scheme, there is a provision of minimum pension of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 after the age of 60 years. If the subscriber of the plan dies, then the spouse will continue to get pension for life. And if both of them die then the entire pension money will be given to the nominee.
